Nourishing the Community, Together
At St. Paul UCC, our Lottie Stowe Memorial Community Garden Ministry is more than just a garden. It’s a testament to our commitment to nourishing both the body and the spirit. Through the hard work of our community, we cultivate fresh vegetables that not only feed our congregation but also support those in need in the greater Corpus Christi area.
Our Recent Harvest
We’re proud to announce that our recent harvest yielded over 77 lbs of fresh vegetables! These nutritious crops were graciously donated to the Corpus Christi Food Bank, helping to provide healthy meals to families in need.
Learning and Growing Together
We believe in the power of community and the joy of learning. Our garden serves as a teaching tool, inviting individuals of all ages to learn about the wonders of cultivation. We regularly host events where children can get their hands dirty, understanding the process of sowing, tending, and reaping a harvest. It’s a hands-on experience that imparts valuable life lessons about patience, hard work, and the beauty of nature.
Annual Food Drive
Our commitment to community welfare extends beyond our garden. Every year, we organize a food drive, encouraging our members and the broader community to donate non-perishable items. These contributions go a long way in supporting local families and individuals facing food insecurity.
Climate Justice Fellow
We recognize the pressing need for climate justice and are proud to have a Climate Justice Fellow as part of our community. Through their efforts, we aim to raise awareness, champion sustainable practices, and make a positive impact on our environment.
