Scripture: How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity – Psalm 133:1 (NIV)

As I sit in quiet contemplation, I am filled with gratitude for the transformative journey I’ve experienced at St. Paul United Church of Christ. My path to this welcoming community began with a simple desire to connect with LGBTQ-affirming churches, representing my high school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA).

Stepping into St. Paul for the first time, I was greeted not just with open arms, but with genuine warmth and acceptance that touched my soul. In the embrace of this sanctuary, I found more than a place of worship; I found a home where I could be my true self without fear or judgment.

Together with the congregation, I’ve witnessed the power of love in action. Through our shared commitment to inclusivity and social justice, Y’all have created a space where everyone is valued and celebrated for who they are.

This journey has not only impacted my life but has also touched the lives of my family and friends. My loved ones, once hesitant, have found comfort and support within the walls of St. Paul. Together, we’ve experienced the beauty of unity and acceptance.

As I reflect on the past year, I’m reminded of the teachings of Jesus: to love one another as He has loved us. In the embrace of St. Paul, I’ve experienced the depth of this love—a love that knows no boundaries and transcends all differences.

Prayer

Gracious God,

Thank you for leading me to St. Paul, where I’ve found a community that embraces me with open arms. Help me to continue walking in the light of your love, extending acceptance and compassion to all those I encounter. Guide me in creating a world where everyone is welcomed and celebrated for who they are. Amen.
